This option replaces the mechanical air switch which mounts on the side of the upper blade guard, that signals the blade to come up.
When cutting round, I Beam configured, or other irregularly shaped components, the mechanical air switch may not contact the workpiece properly when the upperguard clamps. This results in the blade failing to rise to cut the part off.
The pressure switch sends the blade come up signal, by sensing the pressure drop in the non rod end of the upper guard cylinder when the guard clamps.
Another benefit of the pressure switch option, is that in rough mill application, there is no switch to be damaged in the vicinity of the blade.
